A looking-glass, in its archaic form, is a mirror in which to view oneself. My blog, The Looking Glass, is a reference to God’s Word being a ‘mirror’ in which we gain wisdom for all that pertains to life and godliness. This “mirror” is a transformer. It’s living and powerful, sharper than any double-edged sword. It even pierces to the division of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 NKJV Upon looking at yourself in this “mirror”, it will show you who you really are, imperfectons and all. As God’s Word is applied, transformation happens and we reflect the character of Christ.
This is the kind of looking-glass we need. When looking at oneself through the lens of God’s Word, it reflects back to us the true state of our hearts. It’s only by applying God’s Word to our lives (through the power of the Holy Spirit) that we can we truly reflect the nature of Christ.
This blog seeks to both encourage and challenge you, the reader, through my personal stories to allow The Looking Glass to transform your image so that Christ’s reflection can be seen in you.
